Don't Be Naive About Floodwaters
Did you know 6 inches of water can cause your vehicle to lose traction and start sliding. You're probably not at risk of drowning but could easily lose control of your vehicle.
Did you know most vehicles can start floating in 12 inches of water. If you're floating, you're not in control of your vehicle and therefore the water can carry you downstream.
Did you know 2 feet of water can carry larger vehicles downstream (heavy trucks, suv's).
And did you know in more than 2 feet of water, your car will definitely be carried away, engine shutdown & lose all electrical systems.
Bottom line is to protect yourself and your vehicle during a flood is turn around, don't drown.
If you come upon a flooded road, don't try to drive through it. It's not worth placing yourself in danger or destroying your vehicle.
